PolyCultural Weekend 2019
Theme: Music Festival
“The Stage Is Yours”
“The Stage Is Yours” plays around the Music Festival theme where each student would be the performer and we were there to cheer them on. Each student who came to PCW that weekend was important and we made sure they had their time to shine.
Theme Design & Exploration
For design exploration I took a lot of inspiration from Outside Lands, a San Francisco music festival. To see theme in fruition I recreated this Outside Lands patch to reflect a style for PolyCultural Weekend. I didn’t want to blatantly copy Outside Land’s design so I used this as an asset to get approval from our advisor. For the final design, I geared it to reflect the San Luis Obispo scenery and Cal Poly colors.

Brochures for Sponsors
Our biggest source of income and support came from vendors and sponsors. In the past coordinators would give presentations to sponsors to ask for support; however, they never included any physical marketing to help further the importance of the program. With the help of my advisor, I was able to design a brochure that coordinators in the future could use to promote PCW.
Postcards for Students
Something shocking I found out was that PCW never sent out any mailing marketing to students who qualify for PCW. One problem we had in the past was that students weren’t able to receive our invitation through email because of misspelled emails or their invitation being sent to the spam folder. With mailed invitations they are guaranteed the invitation and the information they need about the event.
