PCE Through The Years

2015-2016 - Web, Media, Marketing

My first year as an official Staff Member of PCE was being on the Web, Media, Marketing Team (WMM for short). I was in charge of Graphic Design where I designed social media graphics, t-shirts, and logos. As a whole our team also covered photography and videography whenever needed.

Staff Shirt, In Memoriam

One of my biggest projects as WMM was designing the staff shirt for the year. This shirt would be used at all major PCE events to distinguish who is on staff.

Unfortunately, before our staff year began we had lost a fellow staff member due to a drunk driving accident. I spoke with our Executive Board and fellow WMM members about incorporating our fallen staff member on our shirts as a memoriam. The silhouette that lives within the house is our friend Dave Go who was supposed to be one of our Modern Dance coordinators.

2016-2017 - Club Liaison

For the next year I was nominated and elected to be part of PCE’s Executive Board, which I was super stoked for. This position involved more behind-the-scenes work which included connecting with other organization’s executive boards and community members in SLO County. However, because of my previous experience designing as a WMM member, I was able to design some social media as Club Liaison

Executive Board Baseball Tees

One thing that our Exec Board wanted for the year was some clothing to stand out from our Staff, this would be in addition to our Staff Shirts. We wanted to keep it simple so I designed a small logo and we wore these to big PCE events.

2017-2018 - President

For my last year in the club I was elected President which meant I would be doing two years on PCE’s Executive Board. Although this was super exciting, I was super nervous and stressed because this role had such a huge responsibility, but it ended up being my favorite year in the club. Even though I was extremely busy I still made time to make little designs here and there.

Postcard & Business Cards

In order to increase awareness of the club, one of the things I wanted to create during this year were business cards and postcards that were easy to pass around to perspective members. These were successful as we were able to reach a larger audience which showed in our growth in new members.

New PCE Banner

One thing that was missing that our organization desperately needed was a banner to use during events. I wanted to create a banner that’d be used to stand out and to be used as a great backdrop for photo opportunities.

Lata Fun - Family Gear

One of the things that attract a lot of people to PCE is the big/little program. Like many other organizations, PCE pairs new members with returning members to be big and little, but in Filipino culture it would be Kuiyate/Ading. There are many families in the organization, but my family will always be the closest to my heart, not because it stems from my last name, but it’s composed of people that I really can relate with and feel comfortable around.

I had the honor in designing most of my family’s clothing, which is a tradition for all the families in PCE.
